new job! new coworkers! (human and dog)
i got a new job!!
i'm officially a full-time video & motion designer/producer at SpotOn F
ence. naturally... i had to make an animation for my linkedin announcement because i physically cannot just post a normal graphic.
i wanted to keep this one pretty simple since i had literally just started. clean vector landscapes, a happy little dog, some rolling hills, and lots of tiny details to make it feel alive.
the most time-consuming part ended up being all the little paw prints appearing across the hills, plus animating the deer, birds, and butterflies. i originally thought i'd animate vector versions of all the animals, then realized i was making life way harder than it needed to be. instead i found footage of real animals on green screen, used generate fill to turn them into simple silhouettes, and suddenly i had natural movement without having to awkwardly puppet every limb. sometimes the easiest solution is the smartest one.
more than anything though, i'm just really excited to be here. after spending so much time wearing every creative hat imaginable, it's so refreshing to be part of an actual marketing team. getting to work alongside web designers, social media managers, partnership managers, email marketers, videographers, photographers, and the incredibly talented engineers building the product has been such a fun change of pace.
also... the office is dog friendly.
which means moose gets to come to work with me and make little dog coworker friends.
honestly, i think he got an iconic offer.
